"SHIPWRECKED" The Iron Fish Video - Listen to Shipwrecked - the story behind the video is under the pics...

....... the Shipwrecked video was basically the last night of a ships crew, pishing it up before sailing to their certain death. You see them drowning and washed up on the shore..... that is basically it!! Jon wrote this song in it's entirety so I don't know why they knew they were doomed! Although it was a period of gloomy songwriting for both of us... It was filmed [for free] quite professionally by a friend of Clives [whoops, Max - ( that's Max Decharne, Gallon Drunk, Flaming Stars and author of "A dictionary of Hipster Slang & Hardboiled Hollywood" books!!!)], on 16mm film stock. I think the shots of the Greek fishermen may have been Super 8. The director brought in some make up guys who were between jobs in Hollywood [!] , but all the disgusting wounds and bruises were rendered practically invisible by the stinking mud we were lying in! We were driven down the Thames estuary, somewhere near the Isle of Grain, if my memory serves me right, because of the mud flats, and because of the wrecks of a number of ships [you can see some of the timbers sticking up]. The drowning sequence was done the same day but I can't remember where. It was grey and freezing and we all had to wear wetsuits under our clothes. We were cheered up considerably when some old geezer told us "you'll get polio swimming round in there"...who was swimming? Not me, I still can't swim to this day... that video traumatised me even more!!!
